Lowville, NY- On behalf of the Lowville Lions Club and Four-Corner Committee members, everyone is invited to the grand ribbon cutting ceremony of the new downtown clock and four-corners park. This park beautification project is part of the centennial celebration of Lions Clubs. The dedication will take place at the four-corner intersection of North State Street and Dayan Street in Lowville on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 from 11 AM until 2 PM.
$60,000.00 for a downtown park beautification project at a vacant lot in the center of town. We are pleased to announce we have exceeded our goal. We have been the leader in a major Downtown Mainstreet Revitalization Project. We have been able to purchase a 13-foot Verdin four-faced pedestal clock complete with bronze plaques acknowledging significant donors and have created a small downtown park, complete with beautiful landscaping, an elegant fenced walkway, a 3-foot granite Lion, doggy stations, a flagpole, benches, garbage and recycling cans and a unique walkway with pavers acknowledging our generous donors. Our joint efforts with the Village of Lowville just goes to show what a community can do when we come together to identify and fulfill their needs. The Village worked out the designs with GYMO Engineering and Architecture Firm. They have provided the paving, blacktop, painting and signs. The center of town now has 18 new parking spots, 2 of which are handicapped accessible. The Village has made sure safety is paramount and had beautiful lighting installed, as well as curbing and appropriate parking signs. This project has fulfilled a grave need and the beauty has rejuvenated our small community. Once a vacant lot and eyesore, we now have a vision to behold! Kindly join our celebration as we make history in Lewis County with our very own mini “Lowville Lions Time Square”.
