    Lowville, NY- The following activity took place this morning in Lewis County
    Criminal Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding.

    Joseph R. Fitzgerald, 25, of Lowville, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in State
    Prison followed by two years of parole on a charge of third-degree Criminal
    Possession of a Controlled Substance- With Intent to Sell, a class "B" felony, to
    which he entered a plea of GUILTY on June 23rd. He was then mandated by
    Judge King to the State Prison System’s 90-day Willard Drug Rehabilitation
    Program, which allows inmates who successfully complete the program to
    serve the remainder of their prison sentence under parole supervision. He was
    additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees, $115 in forfeiture, and will
    receive a six-month drivers license suspension. Mr. Fitzgerald was accused of
    possessing morphine with the intent to sell when a search warrant was
    executed at his residence on February 9th.

    Benjamin S. Hutchins, 33, of Glenfield, was sentenced to a 3-Year
    Conditional Discharge on a charge of Failure to Report or Verify as a Sex
    Offender under NYS Penal Law section 168-F-04, a class "D" felony, to which
    he entered a GUILTY plea on June 23rd. He was also ordered to pay $325 in
    court fees. Mr. Hutchins was accused of failing to register a Facebook account
    that he created using a different name in January.

    Corey D. Marolf, 21, of Turin, was sentenced to serve a 3-year probation term
    on a charge of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class "A"
    misdemeanor, to which he entered a plea of GUILTY on June 23rd. He was
    additionally ordered to pay $250 in court fees. The weapon was ordered to be
    destroyed. During a traffic stop in the Town of Croghan on March 23rd, Mr.
    Marolf was accused of possessing an AR15 Rifle with thirty-round ammunition
    clips, which are illegal to possess in New York State.

    Kevin D. Silva, 47, Lyons Falls, was sentenced to serve a 3-year term in State
    Prison followed by a ten-year term of parole supervision, on a charge of third-
    degree Criminal Sex Act, a class "E" felony to which he pleaded GUILTY to on
    June 23rd. He was additionally ordered to pay $1,425 in court fees and will be
    required to register as a sex offender. A no-contact order of protection was
    issued on the victim's behalf for a period of eight-years. Mr. Silva was accused
    of having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 17 on July 01, 2016, at his
    home in the town of West Turin.

    Nicole A. Stauring, 25, of Lowville, was placed on Interim Conditions of
    Probation on a charge of fifth-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled
    Substance, a class "D" felony, to which she entered a GUILTY plea to on June
    23rd. Final sentencing was scheduled for September 07, 2018. Ms. Stauring
    was accused of possessing cocaine when the residence was searched on
    February 9th.
