    A Message from Lowville Mayor Donna Smith:

    Positions available!  

    The Village of Lowville does not only have a Board of Trustees, but also a
    Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals and Municipal Board.  The Planning
    Board oversees development throughout our village.  The Zoning Board of
    Appeals allows or denies development to happen that does not follow our
    Village of Lowville Code.  The Municipal Board oversees the water and sewer
    operations of the village and makes recommendations to our Board of Trustees
    for action to be taken.

    All of these positions within the Village of Lowville are appointed by the Board
    of Trustees, provide a function and are necessary for progress to take place.  
    The Village of Lowville currently has positions to be filled on the Planning and
    Municipal Boards.

    On another note, Richard Defone is our current Acting Justice.  Upon his
    election into this position, the Associate Justice position was vacated and has
    not yet been filled.  Judge Defone does not intend to serve further in this
    position after April 1, 2018.  At this time, the Village of Lowville is seeking an
    individual interested in serving in the Associate Justice position.  Should you
    have a law background, training may not be required.  Should you not have this
    background, the Village will provide you with training through New York State
    to allow for you to serve in this position.  This position in the village is very
    crucial to supporting our local laws.

    Should you be interested in serving your community in any of the above
    capacities, I would love to speak with you about this possibility!  Should you
    know someone who may fit one of these positions, please mention this to
    them!  You must be a resident of the Village of Lowville to serve on a village
    board or run for election in any of these positions.
