Lyons Falls, NY- The New York State Police have confirmed a fatal accident occurring on State Route 12 in Lyons Falls overnight. State Police PIO Jack Keller has confirmed to linkinglewiscounty that a female has died as a result of her injuries, after being struck by a truck while attempting to cross the road. A full release should be available shortly, pending notification of family, Tropper Keller said. According to dispatch reports, Lyons Falls fire and ambulance crews and State Police were dispatched just after 1:30 AM to the vicinity of the Stewart's Shop on State Route 12 in Lyons Falls for a report of a female that was struck by a vehicle and in the roadway. The female was transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica by Lyons Falls ambulance. State Route 12 was closed in both directions between McAlpine Street and Cherry Street, but was reopened to traffic just before 10 AM. We will update as more information becomes available. |
