Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) Workshops for Forest Landowners August 16 & August 17, 2017, Oneida & Oswego Counties The New York State Departments of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and Agriculture and Markets announced today that the agencies are offering two workshops on the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) for forest landowners in Oswego and Oneida counties. EAB is a small but destructive beetle that infests and kills North American ash tree species. EAB was confirmed in 2016 in Oneida County by the DEC and the USDA Animal Plant Health Inspection Service. What: EAB Workshops for Forest Landowners, Oswego County When: Wednesday, August 16, 2017 Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Where: West Monroe Town Hall, 46 County Rte. 11, West Monroe, NY 13167 What: EAB Workshops for Forest Landowners, Oneida County When: Thursday, August 17, 2017 Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Where: Boonville Town and Village Office Building, 13149 NY-12, Boonville, NY 13309, Oneida County For more information contact Glen Roberts, Forester, (315)376-3521 or email information.R6@dec.ny.gov. Forest landowners can also request a DEC Forester visit their woodlot and develop a free Forest Stewardship Plan. This plan would address the landowner's objectives and discuss how the arrival (or proximity) of EAB could impact the owner's forest resources.
