    Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce is looking for
    individuals interested in participating in the 2017-18 Lewis County Leadership
    Academy. The program is a preparatory course for individuals interested in
    becoming community leaders, according to literature from the Chamber of
    Commerce.

    An informational session for interested parties will be held on Thursday, August
    10th at the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce Office, located at 7576 S.
    State Street in Lowville. The deadline to apply was scheduled for August 7th,
    but that has been extended until after the informational session has been held,
    according to Chamber Director Kristen Aucter.

    Tuition is $400 for the ten-month program, with classes held one full day each
    month from September 15th through June of 2018. Chamber members can
    receive a $200 reimbursement at the end of the program for each employee
    successfully completing the course. Tuition assistance is also available, with
    Lewis County providing a $1,000 donation and National Grid providing $2,000,
    according to Mrs. Aucter.
