party lines passing on July 13th, we now have an idea of what each County Legislative District race will look like in this fall's election. It appears there will not be any primary challenges in the races for County Legislator, although September 12th primaries will be held for other local races. We will breakdown candidates for Town and Village races in another article. Below is a breakdown, by district, of the major party candidates pursuing a two- year term as County Legislator in the November 7th General Election. The Legislative District map at the end shows the area each district encompasses. DISTRICT 1: Incumbent Phil Hathway, who has represented the district since 2009, announced earlier this year he will not be seeking reelection. The fall election will see Democratic candidate Ricky L. Taylor take on John V. Lehman, who will appear on the Republican and Conservative lines. We will have candidate profiles for both in a future article. DISTRICT 2: Current Chairman of the Board Michael Tabolt announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking reelection, after representing the district since 2006. He also represented the district from 2002 - 2003. This fall two candidates will face off for the seat, with Randall L. LaChausse appearing on the Democrat and Independent lines and Brenda L. Chartrand appearing on the Republican and Conservative lines. We will provide candidate profiles for both in a future article. DISTRICT 3: The current representative from District 3, Craig Brennen, announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking reelection, after representing the district since 2013. Currently, Ronald J. Burns, appears to be running unopposed for the seat, and will appear on both the Republican and Conservative lines. DISTRICT 4: Incumbent Bryan Moser, who has represented the district since 2014, is not facing any opposition and will appear on the Republican and Conservative lines. DISTRICT 5: Incumbent Richard A. Chartrand, who has served the district since 2014, will appear on the Democrat line. He faces a challenge for the seat from Erik J. Griffin, who will appear on the Republican and Conservative lines. We will have candidate profiles on both in a future article. DISTRICT 6: Incumbent Andrea Moroughan, who has represented the district since 2014, appears to be unopposed and will be on both the Republican and Conservative lines of the November ballot. DISTRICT 7: Greg Kulzer, the incumbent who has represented the district since 2014, currently has no opposition and will appear on the Republican and Conservative lines of the ballot in November. DISTRICT 8: Incumbent Lawrence Dolhof will appear on the Republican and Conservative lines in the November election, with no opposing candidates filing petitions. Mr. Dolhof represented the district from 2000 - 2003 and has held the current post since 2014. DISTRICT 9: Roscoe K. Fawcett, who has represented the district since 2016, is unopposed in his reelection bid and will appear on the Republican line in the November election. DISTRICT 10: Incumbent Jerry King is also unopposed in his reelection bid, and will appear on both the Republican and Conservative lines of the November ballot. Mr. King has represented the district since 2006. |
