Lewis County Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding: Douglas M. Tuttle, 22, Lowville, was sentenced on charges of third-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class "D" felony and fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, also a class "D" felony, to which he entered GUILTY pleas on March 24. Judge King imposed a sentence of 2 1/2 years in State Prison followed by 1 year of parole, and was then recommended to the state's military-style six-month Shock Incarceration Program. He was additionall ordered to pay $750 in court fees, received a six-month suspension of his driver's license, and had a restitution hearing scheduled for September 22. The Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine charge stems from his involvement in the May 18, 2016 fire that destroyed an apartment house in downtown Lowville. The Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance charge stems from the sale of methamphetamine on April 20, 2016 in the Village of Lowville, which he was arrested for as part of the 'Operation Northern Watch' drug sweep in September. Gregory S. Ward, 31, Glenfield, was sentenced on charges of two counts of third-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and three counts of third- degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class "B" felonies; third-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Keep Right and Inadequate Muffler, to which he entered GUILTY pleas to all on May 12th. Mr. Ward was sentenced to serve a 3-year term in State Prison followed by two-years of parole, and was then mandated for the State Prison System’s 90-day Willard Drug Rehabilitation Program, which allows inmates who successfully complete the program to serve the remainder of their prison sentences under parole supervision. He was ordered to pay $150 in court fees and received a six-month suspension of his driver's license. Timothy L. Mooney, 33, of Lowville, was sentenced on charges of second- degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class "A" felony; third- degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class "B" felony; and second-degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class "C" felony, to which he entered GUILTY pleas on July 7th. Judge King sentenced Mr. Mooney as a second felony offender to serve a 6-year term in State Prison followed by a 5-year parole term. He was ordered to pay $375 in court fees and had his driver's license suspended for a period of six-months. Mr. Mooney was accused making and possessing meth on January 23 in the town of Watson. Joshua D. Rogers, 31, address listed as Lewis County Jail, was sentenced on a charge of second-degree Attempted Assault, a class "E" felony, to which he pleaded guilty to on May 12th. Judge King sentenced Mr. Rogers as a second felony offender to serve 1 1/2 to 3 years in State Prison, and was then recommended to the state's military-style six-month Shock Incarceration Program. He was ordered to pay $375 in court fees and an order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim for a period of 8 years. Mr. Rogers was accused of entering a residence in the town of Turin on October 23, 2016 and attempting to cause injury to the resident. |
