Lyons Falls Man Pleads Guilty to Criminal Sex Act Charge

    Lowville, NY: Kevin D. Silva, 47, Lyons Falls, was arraigned in Lewis County
    Court on Friday morning, with the Honorable James R. King presiding, on a
    charge of third-degree Criminal Sex Act, a class "E" felony. He entered a
    GUILTY plea to the charge, with sentencing set for September 14th. Mr. Silva
    was accused of having sexual contact with a girl under the age of 17 on July
    01, 2016, at his home in the town of West Turin.

    In other plea activity Friday morning, Benjamin S. Hutchins, 33, of Glenfield,
    was arraigned on a charge of Failure to Report or Verify as a Sex Offender
    under NYS Penal Law section 168-F-04, a class "D" felony, to which he
    entered a GUILTY plea. Sentencing was adjourned until September 8th. Mr.
    Hutchins was accused of failing to register a Facebook account that he created
    using a different name in January.
