Port Leyden Man Pleads Guilty to Leaving Dog Without Food or Water

    Lowville, NY- Curtis W. Butzer, 37, of Port Leyden, entered a guilty plea in
    Lewis County court on Friday to a charge of Torturing and Injuring an Animal,
    an unclassified misdemeanor. Sentencing was set for June 23, when Judge
    Daniel R. King is expected to place Mr. Butzer on a three-year probation term.

    On October 7, Mr. Butzer was accused of leaving a dog without food or water,
    in a home in the Town of Lyonsdale, over a period of time.
