on Friday, May 12, 2017, with Judge Daniel R. King presiding: Sentencing: Melinda Disotell, 43, of Turin, was scheduled to be sentenced on an amended charge of fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony, to which she entered a guilty plea on March 24. Judge King indicated that Ms. Disotell had violated terms of her enhanced sentence agreement by picking up additional charges in Herkimer County since her plea was entered, and sentencing was delayed pending the outcome of the charges in Herkimer County. Bail was revoked and the case was adjourned until July 7. Ms. Disotell was accused of selling morphine on June 20, 2016 in the Town of West Turin. ARRAIGNMENTS/PLEAS: Rebeka A. Caplicki, 24, of Carthage, was arraigned and entered a NOT GUILTY plea to a charge of third-degree Burglary, a class "D" felony. Bail amount was continued at $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond. The case was adjourned until June 23. Aaron C. Cronk, 32, of Watertown, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of second-degree Criminal Trespass, a class "A" misdemeanor. Sentencing was scheduled for July 21. Mr. Cronk was accused of unlawfully entering an apartment in the village of Lowville on February 26, 2017. Amy L. Deem, 29, of Watertown, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of fourth-degree Grand Larceny. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to May 26. Ms. Deem was accused of using the stolen credit card of a town of Croghan resident to make $5,396.71 in internet purchases in November, 2016. Joshua D. Rogers, 31, address listed as Lewis County Jail, was arraigned and entered a GUILTY plea to a charge of second-degree Attempted Assault, a class "E" felony. Sentencing was set for July 21. Mr. Rogers was accused of entering a residence in the town of Turin on October 23, 2016 and attempting to cause injury to the resident. Michael T. Sullivan, 20, of Port Leyden, was arraigned and entered GUILTY pleas to charges stemming from two different incidents. He entered a guilty plea to a charge of fourth-degree Criminal Mischief, a class "A" misdemeanor, relating to an incident on November 6, 2016 in the town of Leyden where he was accused of intentionally damaging a 2008 Chevy Cobalt belonging to another individual. Mr. Sullivan also entered a guilty plea to a charge of third- degree Burglary, a class "D" felony, regarding an incident in the town of Turin on November 25, 2016, where he was accused of knowingly entering a camp on the Ward Road to take property not belonging to him. Sentencing for both charges was adjourned to July 21. Grand Jury Indictments: Gregory S. Ward, 31, Glenfield, was arraigned on two new charges handed down in a sealed indictment. Not guilty pleas were entered on charges of third- degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class "B" felonies. He was remanded to Lewis County Jail with bail set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. Mr. Ward has three additional felony drug charges pending in county court as well. Trial dates for those charges had previously been scheduled for June 12 and July 17. Mr. Ward has also changed attorneys and is now represented by Jonathan Goldin, a defense attorney out of New York City. After a conference between attorneys, Mr. Ward later entered guilty pleas to both the new charges, as well as previous charges of two counts of third- degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and single counts of third-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, third-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Keep Right and Inadequate Muffler. Sentencing was set for July 14. Other Activity: All cases represented by defense attorney Leslie R. Lewis were adjourned until June 2, as Mr. Lewis was excused from court to attend a funeral. This included the scheduled sentencing of Patrick M. Delles. |
