URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Buffalo NY 818 AM EST Wed Mar 8 2017 NYZ005>008-082130- /O.CON.KBUF.WI.Y.0007.170308T1700Z-170309T0600Z/ Northern Cayuga-Oswego-Jefferson-Lewis- Including the cities of Fair Haven, Oswego, Watertown, and Lowville 818 AM EST Wed Mar 8 2017 ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 1 AM EST THURSDAY... * LOCATIONS...Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties. * TIMING...From late this morning through overnight tonight. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * IMPACTS...Strong winds may result in a few downed tree limbs, and isolated power outages. Travel in high profile vehicles will also be difficult at times. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be 31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use caution until the winds subside.
