Lewis County Court Activity Report: Friday, March 24, 2017

    Lowville, NY- The following activity took place in Lewis County Criminal Court
    on Friday, March 24, 2017, with Judge Daniel R. King presiding:

    Sentencing:

    Tyler L. Noftsier, 27, Croghan, entered GUILTY pleas to charges of first-
    degree Criminal Contempt, a class "E" felony and Forcible Touching, a class
    "A" misdemeanor. He was then sentenced to serve an indefinite term of six
    months in Lewis County Jail, followed by a five-year probation term on the first
    count and a concurrent six-year probation term on the second count. He was
    additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees and an eight-year order of
    protection was issued on the victim's behalf. Mr. Noftsier was accused of
    violating a court order of protection on August 25, 2016 in the Town of
    Croghan, where he punched and kicked the victim in the head and ribs and
    forcibly touched her in a sexual manner.



    PLEAS:

    Melinda Disotell, 43, of Turin, entered a GUILTY plea to an amended charge
    of fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony.
    Sentencing was scheduled for May 12th. Ms. Disotell was accused of selling
    morphine on June 20, 2016 in the Town of West Turin.

    Wendy S. Gardner, 52, Copenhagen, pleaded GUILTY to Aggravated Driving
    While Intoxicated With Child, a class "E" felony and Driving While Intoxicated,
    an unclassified misdemeanor. She was then entered into the Lewis County
    Drug Court Program, with sentencing following the completion of the program.
    Ms. Gardner was arrested on December 10, 2016, in the Town of Lowville, and
    accused of driving while intoxicated with two children under the age of fifteen in
    the vehicle.

    Douglas M. Tuttle, 22, Lowville, entered a GUILTY pleas to charges of third-
    degree Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a class "D" felony and fifth-
    degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, also a class "D" felony.
    Sentencing was scheduled for May 12th. The Unlawful Manufacture of
    Methamphetamine charge stems from his involvement in the May 18, 2016 fire
    that destroyed an apartment house in downtown Lowville. The Criminal Sale of
    a Controlled Substance charge stems from the sale of methamphetamine on
    April 20, 2016 in the Village of Lowville, which he was arrested for as part of
    the 'Operation Northern Watch' drug sweep in September.

    Taylor R. Wiley, 25, Castorland, entered a GUILTY plea to an amended
    charge of second-degree Attempted Burglary, a class "D" felony. Sentencing in
    the case has been scheduled for May 5th. Mr. Wiley was accused of entering a
    dwelling in the Town of New Bremen on November 9, 2016 and stealing items.
